The Memory Extension Kit (MEK) is a multi-purpose upgrade package for the QuickLink, QuicktionaryII and Readingpen. The MEK increases the Pen’s memory capacity, enabling you to:
Add various WizCom applications to your existing product.
Add dictionaries to your product.
Enhance the data storage capacity of your Pen (used in applications that allow storing data).
The MEK package includes a 4MB flash card and a USB cable. The package also contains a link to the installation software (on our Web Site) which will guide you through extending the Pen's memory & setting up your Pen and PC for communications. Once the Pen-PC communications are set up, you can download installation programs for the applications and dictionaries you want to add to your product:
QuicktionaryII and ReadingPen users will be able to add additional dictionary databases to their product and/or upgrade the Pen with QuickLink applications (Notes, Address Book, Internet Links, Tables, Scan to PC) in order to scan, store and send data to the PC.
QuickLink users can add the QuicktionaryII translation capability and dictionaries to their Pen. Extra memory can also be used to increase data storage capacity, enabling users to scan and store approximately 3,000 pages of text rather than just 1,000.
Please note that the 4MB MEK will enable you to carry two or three one-directional dictionary databases (one bi-directional dictionary) on your Pen at once. You may, however, download as many dictionaries as you like, so you can easily change the dictionaries on your Pen at any time.
